He's practically panicking, trying to calm himself down. They aren't real. He had been told about this part but he had not been expecting his own ears and tail anymore. It's through this panic, he jumps when he hears Seimei shut a cabinet so loudly it seems like he slammed it or maybe it only seems that way. It's his training that makes him run out and forget about his own blind panic.
And then he's in a mess of pheromones and this isn't any better. He's standing there awkwardly, stumbling over words before he finally chokes out Seimei's name.]
